Unlike many rock legends, Born Chaim Witz in 1949 in Haifa, Israel, Gene Simmons was the only child of his mother, Florence Klein, a holocaust survivor. He came from a broken home, where is father left him when he was 6 or 7 years old. Both immigrated to United States and settled in Queens, New York when he was eight. HIS mother had to work from sun up till sundown, to earn enough doe to keep the home running smoothly. At this time he adopted the name Eugene.He discovered music by listening to the radio. which "crawled into my blood." After graduating from Richmond college he had quiet a variaty of jobs until 1973, when Gene Simmons finally found his real passion. He formed the band KISS with his friends Peter, Paul and Ace.
The documentary "Man of a Thousand Faces," about Lon Chaney, a silent film legend gave Gene Simmons the idea for his onstage character known as "The Demon".

Starting Feburary 22nd, tickets for these shows go on sale. The Helsinki show tickets go on sale on February 26th.

LACUNA COIL Launch Official Facebook Page
Italy's LACUNA COIL have recently launched an official Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lacuna-Coil/6127793569 You need to have a Facebook account in order to view their page. As reported earlier, Lacuna Coil's Andrea Ferro and Cristina Scabbia recently appeared in Over The Madness in which they discuss their appreciation for the English doom metal godfathers alongside other metal bands, and Paradise Lost band members themselves. This documentary was written and directed by Diran Noubar, and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 2007.
Their new Album Due out sometime in September. So if you like Lacuna Coil and are a big fan of theirs, then go out and purchase their new stuff. If it's coming on radio, turn up the volume.

IRON MAIDEN - Picture Gallery From Los Angeles Show Available

Iron Maiden recently played to a full house at Forum, Ingelwood, CA on Tuesday night, where they announced the first leg of their much anticipated North American tour. Tickets were sold out months in advance for their Somewhere Back In Time - World Tour '08. On March 1st, tickets will go on sale for 16,000 capacity Verizon Amphitheatre. The concert will be on Friday May 30th and Saturday May 31st. As usual, they will be belting out exceptionally good music that will simply blow you away. These veterns of rock and roll will play alot of their older songs as well newer songs. They are usually able to have good stage set-up and good sound system. They like to play it loud, fast and hard.
